How are you doing today?
I am rather all right. The past several days have been quite event-filled. I got cut from the ice hockey team (an annual ritual, it seems, even though I annually am asked to join the squad eventually). What made this occurrence different was the means by which the message was relayed: by email! I had written to the hockey coach requesting details about upcoming practices, and he only had one key sentence to say: Please do not attend practice tonight, or in the future. Talk about a bastard!!! He has so much nerve that he made the request in email!!! What a retard!
On other notes, I was unusually tired this week... I rested almost 10 hours a night, and ended up attending less classes than i usually would. Luckily I made the effort to remain in contact with my professors, so I did not miss anything pertinent this past week. Interestingly, Thursday's class schedule was additionally shortened due to Yom Kippur -- some professors cancel class sessions in respect to religious holidays.
I received several schoolbooks this past week, ordered through barnes & noble dot com. I have yet to begin reading anything for this academic semester, but I am sure that with the extra spare time I will have acquired through the aforementioned athletic layoff, I can do some more reading. It will (the reading) have to compete against my membership in the Pre-Law Society, Chess Club, Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, AAF (Atheists, Agnostics, & Freethinkers), Student Senate / University Senate, and for-pay development projects I have agreed to help complete. What's more, I also received my gigahertz-worth of SDRAM ordered through buy.com which helps bring my personal system's memory capacity at its maximum of 768MB PC133/100 SDRAM. The other RAM chips went to a female friend, as she was generous enough to trade RAM with an internal DVD player for my personal computer. Vroom! Vroom!
I went to this Venezuelan restaurant, Flor's Kitchen (see review in nasbité :: dining), and the food kicked ass. I have yet to begin receiving my New York Times subscription properly... but luckily I can read it all online. I can also read Wall Street Journal online, too (thank you Gafcounsel).
Food Emporium received my visit Wednesday evening... interesting, eh? The most notable items of my purchase was tuna and bananas. My mom would be proud. Supposedly, according to a specific friend (nameless, for reasons of anonymity), men are weird.
My cellular service, provided by Verizon Wireless, was entirely restored this week (thank god). Unfortunately for them, they are still experiencing difficulties providing service in lower Manhattan due to the destruction caused by the historic terrorist attack. As New York City is eager to get as back to normal as possible, emergency workers and volunteers are still spending insane amounts of hours doing their part in recovering from at Ground Zero. Several friends are among the volunteers for the Salvation Army... all the best of luck to them all.
Until next blog post, play safe, drink safely (use a bib), wash your hands, respect your elders (if they are not yet crippled), eat your spinach.
