BBC NEWS | Technology | 'Heat-proof' glass could save on air-con: "A new coating for glass that can keep the heat from the sun out, saving on air-conditioning costs, has been developed by scientists in London.
The glass has a microscopic coating that allows glazing to keep heat out of buildings while allowing light to pass through.
The key is a thin coating of vanadium dioxide, around the thickness of a human hair, that is placed on normal window glass."
I want these windows! Imagine a world where everything is modern-looking ('cuz it's glass), and everyone can run through the glass ('cuz it's glass, and it's modern, and it's cool), and the heat is allowed into the home only with permission... but the sunlight is always allowed (or not). That is the future, and I love it!!! I want one!
