Script Idea

[Garbage - The trick is to keep breathing] playing in the background, camera fade into a well-to-do family's well-light living room furnished with a trophy case filled with Angela and her father's own awards. Camera pans left and navigates into the second-floor bedroom of Angela. The tone is semi-depressed, semi-confused, semi-studious.

It is 1:32am and Angela, the 15-year-old daughter of a gubernatorial candidate, is listening to hear headphones while reading a blog of her boyfriend breaking up with her because she is not the star athlete on the girls lacrosse team. She begins to sob as she posts an anonymous comment: At least my privates are not malformed!

As she types, she mutters obscenities. Then her door knocks, and her father proceeds to enter in an attempt to console her. He is in his mid-to-late 30's, athletic build, and very loving. As her mood is depressed, she just sobs in his arms as he strokes her hair.

Father: There, there. What's the matter sweetheart? Are the exams this weekend stressing you out?
Angela: Dad, Brad just broke up with me! (still sobbing) I can't even think about this weekend!!!
Father: Oh, sweetie, don't worry about Brad. There are a million other Brads out there... (with a grin) the trick is to just keep breathing.
[ALTERNATE::
Father: except for Brad Pitt. It wasn't Brad Pitt, was it?
Angela (giggling sob): No, dad, it was not that Brad.
Father (kissing Angela's forehead): That's good to hear. Mom would have wondered where you had found Brad Pitt to begin with!
Angela (holding an object, like a pillow): Oh, dad.
]
Angela (holding an object, like a pillow): Why can't you just leave me alone in misery?
Father (hand still on forehead): Because, I love you too much to leave you alone -- especially if Brad were around. Good night, darling.
Angela (returning to her computer monitor): Good night, dad.

Lights fade out as the camera wide-angles to Father walking out of the room and Angela returning to the computer, redressing her sitting posture.

[The rest of the story: Angela blogs her semi-tormented emotions on her own blog, but still wishes bad things to happen to Brad. Angela falls asleep as the weather turns from a chilly night to an overcast night -- darkening the moon. She grabs breakfast in the morning, says "goodbye mom" as she grabs her brown bagged lunch and heads out the door. During the day, Angela discusses her anguish with her girlfriends in the well-to-do neighborhood high school. In the evening, she attends (as a spectator) the basketball game at and against the rival high school. During the game, she dismisses herself to the bathroom. She gets lost. Camera fade-out... camera fade-in to her body, partially undressed, wrapped in plastic, almost dead but, still breathing. Angela is discovered by the janitor who is explaining in Spanglish to the police the discovery. Cut scene; now at the hospical, the medical examiners try to determine the turn of events as they discover a strange tattoo between her butt cheeks. Her parents confirm that this marking was a birth mark. A couple of journalists are awaiting word from the press room the circumstances, discoveries, and any possible leads the police detectives might contribute and share in alerting the community. Camera zooms out as the same Garbage song repeats in the background... roll introductory credits.]

[In case you have not figured: this is a thriller a la Scream, but the ultimate story progresses to uncover teenagers living life with their own rules, orders, groups, and punishments. A secret fraternal society embedded into well-to-do neighborhoods with access to sex, drugs, fast cars, money, and influential in how and what other teenagers see on the tube. The story twists range from teenage love affairs to influencing the music and fashion industries and advertising business through evil-doings.]

[Yes, there's more, but I'm out of breath for right now.]
